Perth Concert Hall

(Extract from Issue 8/2017- RASWA SUB-BRANCH SIGNAL)

Perth’s iconic Concert Hall is to be the new location for the traditional ANZAC Day Commemorative Service.

For a number of years, Langley Park adjacent to the Swan River has hosted the RSLWA Commemorative Service held at the conclusion of the ANZAC Day March through the streets of the CBD.
Next year, marchers and guests will be invited to the Perth Concert Hall which seats over 1700 people. The move provides an opportunity for marchers and other attendees to sit in comfort for the Commemorative Service.

RSLWA Chief Executive Officer, John McCourt, said a change of venue was needed.
"Year after year we have quite literally been at the mercy of the weather’’, Mr McCourt said. "Some years it has been stiflingly hot while others have seen a wash-out."
While the Dawn Service and ANZAC Day March will remain at the mercy of the weather, we can at least have a facility for the Commemorative Service that will deliver a more controlled environment and also provide for catering and socialising before and after the Commemorative Service."
RSLWA has worked closely with Concert Hall staff to develop the plan for ANZAC Day 2018 and their professionalism and assistance has been most welcoming.
